From the Sands of the Gobi Read about Roz's amazing around the world travel on her 2002 trip. The road to Mongolia - Roz arrived in Beijing, China, and few days later, she hopped aboard the Trans-Mongolian/Trans-Siberian Railway and continued on her way to Mongolia and Siberia. She crossed the Gobi Desert where she went for the mandatory camel ride, and headed on to Ulaan Bataar where a "ger" (a Mongolian yurt) was reserved! Then it was on to Lake Baikal in Siberia where she had every intention of swimming---never mind the temperature of the water. (They say anybody who swims in Lake Baikal adds 25 years to their life! Who can ignore that?) Her destination - Irkutsk, Siberia. September, 2002
